Riyadh: Eid holidays in Saudi Arabia will be from April 21st to 24th, and due to the possibility of Eid al-Fitr 2023 falling on Friday, it will be a rare opportunity to hear two sermons on the same day.
According to Arab media, Saudi Arabia has announced four holidays for Eid al-Fitr 2023, which will be from Friday, April 21st to Monday, April 24th.
However, the central bank of Saudi Arabia has stated that public dealing in banks will be closed from April 17th and will reopen on April 25th during the Eid holidays announcement.
Experts have suggested that if Eid al-Fitr 2023 falls on April 21st, it will be a rare chance to hear two sermons (Eid prayer and Friday prayer) on the same day.
According to a Hadith, during the time of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), Eid al-Fitr and Friday prayer fell on the same day, and the Prophet said, “Today, two Eid prayers have been combined in one day.”
It should be noted that Ramadan started in Saudi Arabia on March 23rd and this year’s Umrah season has seen a record number of pilgrims from all over the world coming to see the holy Kaaba.
The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah and the committees of the Grand Mosque in Mecca and the Prophet’s Mosque in Medina have made special arrangements to provide all facilities to the record number of pilgrims.
