The moon of Shawwal sighted in Saudi Arabia, Eid al-Fitr 2023 to be celebrated tomorrow, Friday. The crescent moon of Shawwal 1444 Hijri has been sighted in Saudi Arabia and UAE.
The Saudi Supreme Court had appealed to citizens to sight the moon today, and a central committee meeting was held to search for the moon of Shawwal.
According to Arab media reports, the crescent moon has been sighted in the central regions of Tamir and Hawta Sadir in Saudi Arabia.
In addition to Saudi Arabia, Eid will also be celebrated on Friday in Canada and the United States, while in several countries including Malaysia, Australia, and Jordan, where the Shawwal moon was not sighted, the 30th day of Ramadan will be observed on Thursday and Eid will be celebrated on Friday.
The crescent moon of Shawwal has also been sighted in the United Arab Emirates, where Eid will also be celebrated on Friday, April 21.
On the other hand, the crescent moon of Shawwal was not sighted in Oman, and Eid al-Fitr will be celebrated on Saturday, April 22.
The crescent moon of Shawwal has also been sighted in Qatar, where Eid al-Fitr will be celebrated on Friday, April 21.
Apart from this, Eid al-Fitr will be celebrated on Sunday in most countries including Pakistan.
The crescent moon of Shawwal has not been sighted in Malaysia, according to the Malaysian government, Eid al-Fitr will be observed on Sunday, April 22.
Similarly, the crescent moon of Shawwal has not been sighted in Singapore, and according to the Islamic Religious Council of Singapore, Eid al-Fitr will be celebrated on Sunday, April 22.
Once again, two Eids will be celebrated in the UK, with prayers being held on Friday in mosques following the Saudi Arabian tradition, while mosques following the Ahl al-Sunnah tradition will make a decision after sighting the moon.
