When is Eid ul-adha this year?
The day of Eid al-Adha falls on the tenth (10th) day in the twelfth (12th) and final month of the Islamic Lunar Calendar, Dhul Hijjah.
The day on which celebrations for Eid al-Adha falls is dependent on a legitimate sighting of the moon, following the completion of the Holy Pilgrimage of Hajj – an annual pilgrimage to Mecca in Saudi Arabia, the holiest city for Muslims.
Saudi Arabia
Saudi Arabia has confirmed sighting of Eid al Adha Moon today i.e. Wednesday 29th of Dhul Qadah 1443 AH corresponding to June 29, 2022
Saudi Arabia announced that Eid Al Adha would be celebrated on July 9 after crescent sighting has been confirmed on Wednesday. It also said that Arafat Day will fall on Friday, July 8, and that Thursday, June 30 will be the first day of Dhul-Hijjah.
Oman

The sighting of the crescent of the month of Dhul Hijjah for the year 1443 AH has been confirmed, and accordingly, Thursday will be the first of Dhul Hijjah, and Saturday, July 9, the first day of Eid Al-Adha.
Jordan
When is the first day of Eid al-Adha in Jordan? The Mufti of Jordan announced that Thursday, June 30, is the first of Dhul-Hijjah month in the Islamic calendar. Therefore, Friday, July 8, will be the Day of Arafat, and Saturday, July 9, will be the first day of Eid al-Adha.
France
In France, the Muslim theological council has unveiled the date of the celebration of Eid el-Adha for the year 2022. Based on astrological calculations; the religious authority established in France has set the date of the day of the sacrifice on Saturday July 9, 2022; corresponding with the tenth day of the Hijri month Dhul-Hijjah.

Do you need to fast ahead of Eid al-Adha?
While not obligatory, many are encouraged to fast on the day of Arafah as it is commonly believed that doing so makes amends for sins made in the past year and future years.
